Who we are

VettedQuote is a free service that connects homeowners with home improvement contractors. It is operated by EliState LLC ("we", "us"), 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801. EliState LLC is the controller of the personal information collected through this site.

Privacy questions and requests: legal@vettedquote.com

What we collect

  • Contact details. The name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code you type into our forms.
  • Project details. Your answers about the project: service type, scope, timeline, whether you own the home, and similar.
  • Consent records. The exact consent text you saw, the moment you agreed, your IP address, your browser and device information, the page you were on, the version of our Partner List at that moment, and an independent consent certificate (TrustedForm).
  • Tracking data. How you reached us (for example, ad campaign parameters), cookies, and basic analytics about how the site is used.

How your lead is used

This is the part most privacy policies bury. Here it is, plainly.

  1. We call you to verify your request. That call may be recorded. It may be handled by a person or by our automated AI assistant, Maia. If it is the AI, it will say so at the start of the call, and it will ask before any recording continues.
  2. In areas we serve, we match you with one local contractor. One. We send your contact and project details to that contractor so they can reach you and quote the project. We do not blast your number to a crowd.
  3. In areas or for services we do not serve directly, we sell or share your request with marketing partners who buy home improvement leads, so a provider can still contact you. Under some state privacy laws that counts as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and you can opt out at any time (see Your rights below).

Who receives your information

  • The matched local contractor working your project, in areas we serve.
  • Marketing partners and lead buyers, only for areas and services we do not serve directly. Current partners are listed, and version dated, on our Partner List.
  • Service providers working for us: call and verification systems (including the AI assistant), consent certification (TrustedForm), hosting, and analytics.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

We do not sell your information to data brokers for unrelated purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep consent records and the related lead data (the exact consent text you saw, timestamps, IP address, call recordings, the Partner List version shown, and delivery records) for at least 5 years. That retention protects both of us: it is the proof of what you agreed to. Other data is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes above.

Your rights

Depending on your state, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete it.
  • Correct it.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

To exercise any of these, use the form on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or email legal@vettedquote.com. We will verify the request and respond within the time your state law requires (typically 45 days). We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing.

Categories of personal information (California and similar state laws)

In the last 12 months we have collected the following categories, from you directly, from your device automatically, and from advertising partners that referred you to us:

  • Identifiers: name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, IP address.
  • Commercial information: the home-improvement services you requested and your project answers.
  • Internet or network activity: pages visited on our sites, referral source, ad-campaign parameters, device and browser information.
  • Approximate geolocation: the ZIP code you provide and location inferred from your IP address.
  • Audio: recordings of verification calls, where you are notified and applicable law is followed.

We collect them for the purposes described above (matching, verification, delivery to a contractor or partner, compliance recordkeeping, and improving the Service). We disclose identifiers, commercial information, and internet activity to the recipients listed under "Who receives your information." Where we pass your request to a marketing partner for compensation, that disclosure may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" under state law — you can opt out at any time via Do Not Sell or Share. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right-to-limit notice, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Cookies and analytics

We use strictly-necessary cookies and similar storage to run the funnel (for example, remembering your answers between steps), and basic analytics to understand how the site is used. Advertising-campaign parameters (such as the ad you clicked) are captured with your request so we can attribute it. You can control cookies in your browser settings; the Service still works with cookies limited, though forms may not remember your progress.

How we protect it

We use industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage with access controls, role-restricted access to lead data, and audit trails on delivery. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but consent records and lead data are treated as sensitive business records and protected accordingly.

Authorized agents and appeals

You may use an authorized agent to submit a rights request on your behalf; we will ask the agent for proof of your written permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email; where state law provides, you may also contact your state Attorney General.

State-specific notices

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Virginia, and Utah (and other states with comprehensive privacy laws) have the access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights described under "Your rights," subject to the verification and timing rules of their state's law. California residents: the "Do Not Sell or Share" link, GPC honoring, and the category disclosures above are provided under the CCPA/CPRA. Nevada residents: you may direct us not to sell covered information by using the same opt-out. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.

Calls and texts

If you checked the consent box on one of our forms, you agreed that VettedQuote, a matched local pro, and the parties on our Partner List may call and text you about your project, including with automated technology and AI voice. That consent is never a condition of purchase, and you can withdraw it at any time: reply STOP to any text, tell us on any call, or email us.

To confirm your request and match you correctly, VettedQuote (or our automated assistant, Maia) may call or text you. These calls may be recorded for quality and verification. You can opt out at any time by telling us on the call, or by replying STOP to texts.

Children

Our service is for adults arranging work on their own homes. It is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

When this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
